Philadelphia Police Enlist Private Security Cameras (NPR)

A recent NPR news story covers a Philadelphia police program which involves voluntary registration of security cameras for use a crime fighting tool. By having businesses and individuals register their security cameras with the police dept., police will know where they can go to obtain video surveillance footage in and around an area where a crime has been committed to help them gather evidence and clues. Such a database of security cameras throughout various locations in the city will make it easier to acquire video surveillance from multiple security camera sources.

Fan Beating at Sports Stadium Prompts Calls for High Definition Night Vision Security Cameras?

The baseball world is shocked after a San Francisco Giants fan was severely beaten in a Dodgers Stadium parking lot. Police estimate that some 40,000 people were walking in the parking lot at the time of the incident and it is estimated that 100 people may have actually witnessed the attack but so far no one has come forward to identify the suspects.

Caught on Security Camera: Homeowner and Burglar Draw Guns

28 year old Joe Daly from Pacific, Missouri had installed a home surveillance system. A couple guys tried to burglarize his home by entering in the garage. Guns were drawn and the incident was caught on camera.
